temple university advertising & pr senior showcase

Each year, Temple University's Department of Advertising & Public Relations hosts a Senior Showcase, a “reverse” job fair where industry professionals are invited to meet the graduating class and view their work. For the 2019 event, I selected 3 Art Direction students for the creative team, who brainstormed an open mic comedy show theme to advertise the graduates’ imminent “début in the spotlight.” The event’s name, “Live from Broad Street,” played off the university's Philadelphia campus location. Industry attendance was boosted 15% YoY. || Creative direction & print production. Art direction, illustration, & design by Temple students Stephanie Cao, Lauren Bottino, & Heidi Shackleford.

Awards: American Advertising Awards (AAF District 2): Gold ADDY (Special Event Materials); International Design Awards: Bronze (Print Announcements); Indigo Design Awards: Silver (Branding), Silver (Promotional Materials), Bronze (Integrated Design); Graphis New Talent Annual: Honorable Mention

The Showcase was promoted via Eventbrite, social media, and targeted email blasts. Over 125 industry professionals — the largest number in the five years since the event started — attended.

T-shirts, tote bags, and drink coasters (with a url linking to student portfolios & LinkedIn pages) were created to highlight the theme and encourage interaction and follow-up.
